Editors: Alan Taylor & Dave Burke
We began publishing in 1989 in response to the flood of new releases which began on vinyl and has continued into the CD age. Our aim is to act as a guide, letting you know what instrumental music is available and reviewing it sensibly so that you can make an informed choice.
Our reviews include full track-listings and have been referred to by Record Collector magazine as ”in-depth” and ”quality reviews”. We include features on instrumental artists from the 1950s right up to date and number many of them amongst our readership.
We have been involved in many CD reissue projects by preparing compilations and writing the booklet notes. Examples of our work include the Ventures In The Vaults and the Birth Of Surf series for Ace Records.
We also ran the annual Pipeline Rock Instrumental Convention in London for 21 years which featured live music, CD/DVD/record stalls plus the chance to meet and chat with fellow fans.
We welcome all of your comments about our site. We are also looking for your contributions to our News page, especially information on any upcoming live gigs by rock instrumental artists. If you feel your own (or any other) site deserves a link with us please email full details.
Contributions are very welcome. Readers’ letters and readers’ lists are always welcome, and if you would like to write a full length article or short piece please contact Alan Taylor at:
